Young graduates interested in exposure to political environment and gaining on the job experience may soon find an opportunity to intern with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which is going to launch a short internship programme ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

The interns, who will be hired in each state, will manage party's social media outreach and also help it with election activities for each constituency.

"We are launching this programme with an intention to give youngsters a peek into our party and its ideals and also get their expertise in planning and strategizing for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections" Ankit Lal, the social media in charge of the party told HT.

The party had successfully experimented with the idea in the Delhi assembly elections when the interns helped the party in profiling each of the assembly seats and also helped it reach out to the masses.

Expanding the same idea for the Lok Sabha elections, the party is planning to hire interns in each state. For the Lok Sabha, the intake of the interns will much higher than the last internship. "We have not yet fixed the number of interns we will be hiring but soon we will be advertising about it on party's website," Lal said.

While the party has not decided on which states units of the party will run the programme, it is most likely to focus on its strong states like Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab.
