LDA Vice Chairman BB Singh, however, said that complete documents would only be provided after holding the October 4, lottery draw for vacant flats in the scheme registrations for which were opened last month by the LDA.

Registrations for the scheme were opened on September 17 and by September 31, when the booking closed, the LDA had received 106 applications from the public against the 107 flats it had put up for sale. The 13-point CB-CID missive has also sought the names of the LDA officers, who were in-charge of Nehru Enclave and who allotted flats under the scheme from time to time.

Beginning with the date when the housing project was conceived, the amount spent on it and the income generated from it by the LDA, the investigating agency’s two-page letter, has asked the development body to specify the action taken by it to rid the flats of encroachers. Chief Minister Mulayam Singh had instituted the inquiry on September 5, after HT Lucknow Live had exposed the property racket that was being run by some LDA employees in connivance with the students’ mafia and anti-socials.
