CBI will be opening its doors to the private corporate world as it seeks to upgrade and modernise its data management system, a project for which the likes of Tata Consultancy, Ernst and Young and some others are bidding.
The other corporate giants are PriceWaterHouse Cooper, CMC and Newgen, who made a beeline in the pre-bid conference organised by CBI in New Delhi on Monday evening.
The pre-bid meeting, held in New Delhi on Monday, gave a preview to the captains of the corporate world about what the CBI was looking for from the private companies in the project, which included computerisation and data management.
The CBI had invited 'Expression of Interest' (EoI) from reputed companies or consortium, both private and public sector, for initiating a holistic, coordinated modernisation and capacity building of the computerisation project of the agency.
The companies were briefed by the CBI officials during which it was categorically stated that interested firms should ensure integration with investigation and prosecution-related systems.
This should be done to enable CBI build capabilities to successfully realise its vision, mission and mandate and the objectives of this project would be to implement, in a stipulated time frame, a comprehensive management and support system to improve efficiency, transparency and accountability, official sources said.
