The sleuths also raided Satya Sai Urban Cooperative Bank of which Dr Kapoor’s mother is the chairperson.

CBI sources said raids were conducted at eight places including RKDF Engineering College, Satya Sai Engineering College, Bhabha Engineering College and the Bhabha Management institute besides Ayushmati Social Society office-bearers’ residences.

The sources said the society used 35 fake fixed deposit receipts (FDRs) worth Rs 2.50 crore each for obtaining recognition for the engineering colleges from the All India Council of Technical Education.

The bungling came to the fore in the Income Tax raids in July this year on the RKDF College and Satya Sai Urban Cooperative Bank owned by Dr Kapoor’s family.

The Ayushmati society forged FDRs through the bank to inflate the amount for obtaining recognition. The total amount in the bank was just Rs 10 lakh.
