The CBI is getting in touch with authorities in Greece to ascertain the arrest of three women, including a doctor, for their alleged involvement in the multi-crore kidney racket. Dr Amit Kumar is the key accused in this case. The agency, which is probing the case, would approach the authorities through the External Affairs Ministry and Interpol to get facts and evidence related to it, CBI sources said on Thursday.
According to Athens News Agency (ANA), national news agency of Greece, after a five-month investigation the Greek police had found a Greek woman doctor and two other women, owners of a shop, of being allegedly involved in the kidney scam. All the three women were arrested yesterday and would be charged as members of an international ring that arranged to send kidney patients to India.
