Rahul Bose, Soha Ali Khan, John Abraham and Milind Suman are some of the celebrities who will be joining about 30,000 people running in the Mumbai Marathon.
Bose (41) is running the 6 km-Dream Run, to raise awareness for his NGO The Foundation which works to prevent discrimination.
Suman, running for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India, and Abraham are taking part in the 42 km-marathon.
Six underprivileged children from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, who have been given schooling by Bose's NGO, and Khan, will be joining Bose in the Dream Run.
“It is unique because there is no hierarchy of talent and everyone can run,” Bose said. “It is the greatest community event in India’s history. The anger of December 3 has taken a back seat and all you will see is the spirit of Mumbai.”
Last year, he ran the Dream Run in 29 minutes.
“I have not done any training but I am an international rugby player so if I can’t run 6 km, I should kill myself,” he said.
Suman (44) has spent the past few weeks running 30 km a week in training.

{{/usCountry}}“I haven’t run 42 km in one go yet. I will be running past my house in Shivaji Park where my family has promised to stand and wave me on. It’s not about how much you train, but how much you are motivated.”
