Opposition Asom Gana Parishad leader Chandra Mohan Patowary and 13 other MLAs brought the motion against Islam during zero hour expressing dissatisfaction over the role of the minister in arresting the hike in prices of essential commodities.

The Opposition also demanded a detailed discussion on the issue.

Speaker Tanka Bahadur Rai admitted the motion but did not announce the time and date for the discussion.
