Polling for election of mayor in 11 nagar nigams, including Lucknow, Meerut, Moradabad, Bareilly, Aligarh, Agra, Kanpur (Nagar), Jhansi, Allahabad and Gorakhpur will be held on Tuesday.

Additional election commissioner Vinay Priya Dubey said the SEC had received 5 companies of SSB and 12 companies of RAF from the Central Government. “We have decided to deploy the SSB in four sensitive nagar nigam areas. The RAF had been deployed in various other nagar nigams to maintain law and order,” he said. The SEC has received complaints of bogus voting and rigging from various districts during the first phase of election on Saturday last. Now, the SEC has planned to resort to videography at sensitive and extra sensitive booths in all the 11 nagar nigams. Fifty teams of videographers will be deputed in Allahabad and Lucknow. Two dozen such teams will be deputed in the remaining nine nagar nigams. Along with the DM and the SSP, the zonal magistrates and the ADMs will also move with videographer teams.
