Centre carries out reshuffle at joint secy level

The Centre has carried out a minor reshuffle of joint secretary-level officials, in which eight joint secretaries were appointed or transferred to various ministries.

The Centre has carried out a minor reshuffle of joint secretary-level officials, in which eight joint secretaries were appointed or transferred to various ministries.

The appointment committee of the cabinet (ACC), headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, okayed the names whose orders were subsequently issued by the department of personnel and training (DoPT) Saturday.

MM Kutty, a 1985-batch Uttarakhand cadre of IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of environment and climate change. He has been posted in the place of Ajay Tyagi, who was shifted and elevated as additional secretary and director general, directorate of currency in the ministry of finance.

Another officer appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of statistics and programme implementation is Arun Kumar Yadav, a 1987-batch IAS officer of Sikkim cadre.

Chetan Bhushan Sanghi has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of women and child development. He will fill in the vacancy caused by Vivek Joshi, who was shifted to the department of expenditure in the ministry of finance. Sanghi is a 1988-batch IAS officer belonging to the Uttarakhand cadre.

Santosh Kumar Sarangi, a 1994 IAS officer of Odisha cadre, was appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of commerce in place of Ravi Arora, who was moved from commerce to NATGRID last month in lateral shift.

Similarly, Anuradha Mitra, Indian Defense Account Service (IDAS) officer has been moved from ministry of science and technology as joint secretary and financial advisor to the department of electronics and information technology in the same capacity as joint secretary and financial advisor. She replaced JB Mohapatra, who was moved from electronics to science and technology.

Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer Madhukumar Reddy Anam has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of textiles.
