The Centre is thinking of bringing changes in rules to facilitate appointment of labour department officials as Court Officers to adjudicate disputes in labour courts.

The Centre is thinking of bringing changes in rules to facilitate appointment of labour department officials as Court Officers to adjudicate disputes in labour courts, Minister for Labour and Employment Oscar Fernandes said on Saturday.

The proposed changes are expected to help in filling all vacancies in labour courts, he told reporters in Bellary.

The government would soon launch a group insurance scheme for landless agricultural labourers and the Union Cabinet has recently approved social security schemes for workers in the unorganised sector, he added.
