The annual inter business school sports event of Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, Chakravyuh, kicked off on February 16, 2007.
The event was inaugurated by Shri Rajeev Srivastava, Director General, Commonwealth Games 2010. While addressing the partcipants he emphasised on the importance of sports and exhorted the gathering of business students to create and implement a proposal for development of sports infrastructure for the upcoming Common Wealth Games and also to come forward for the development of sports in the country.
The three day event will see the future corporate warriors competing against each other in a plethora of events ranging from outdoor ones like Athletics, Football, Cricket, Badminton, Basketball and Volley Ball to indoor events like Table Tennis, Chess and Carrom.
The event has also been peppered with informal events like the tug of war and the talent night to add to the fun filled adrenaline-pumping package!
The institutes participating in Chakravyuh 2007 are IIM Ahmedabad, FMS, Delhi, IIFT, Delhi, MICA, Ahmedabad, IMI, Delhi, Fore School of Management, Delhi, Amity, Delhi, NIM, Ahmedabad, UBS Chandigarh, ICFAI, Gurgaon, NMIMS, Mumbai, XIM Bhubaneshwar, IMT Nagpur, Nirma Ahmedabad, Infinity Business School and the host B school, IMT Ghaziabad.
Eminent sporting personalities like Jyoti Randhawa and cricketer Ashish Nehra are also expected to grace the event.
