JUDGE OF Fast Track Court (V) Pankaj Kumar Upadhyay of Kanpur City directed station officer of Chamanganj police station to deposit Rs 328 from his salary in the treasury.

The amount was to meet lodging and fare expenditure incurred by the witness. The court also questioned non-production of evidences kept at the police station on the flimsy ground that store official was on leave.
The court questioned as to whether lock of the said store (malkhana) was not operated or any other government arm was not used during the leave period of the said store official.
The court directed the station officer to ensure that evidence related to the case kept in the malkhana be produced on the next hearing date fixed for October 6. The Judge, in his order, warned that disciplinary action would be initiated for failure to follow instruction of the court.
Tihar Jail superintendent asked to show cause
JUDGE OF Fast Track Court (V) Pankaj Upadhyay of Kanpur City issued a show-cause notice to the superintendent of the Tihar Jail for not producing Fazlur Rahman in court.
After getting information about his arrest, the Kotwali police of the city pleaded for issue of ‘B’ warrant for bringing Fazlur to Kanpur court.
The court accepted the request. It asked the police to produce Fazlur before court on September 6 but the jail authorities did not allow his release.

Life term for murder
THE JUDGE of Fast Track Court (III) Harish Tripathi of Kanpur Dehat awarded life imprisonment and fined Rs 10,000 each to two murder accused.
Omprakash and Angad, resident of the village Ramsarai under the police station Ghatampur were convicted for committing murder of Brijbhan, resident of the same village on October 19, 2000.

Akhilesh Kumar alias Deepu, resident of the Patara under police station Ghatampur along with his mother Shyam Kali, sister Abhilahsa and two others Sanat Kumar and Ajaikumar murdered his wife Gudia on January 22, 2003.
Father of Gudia lodged an FIR with Ghatampur police about the incident on February 2003. Stating that her daughter was married with Akhilesh on July 7, 2000. After marriage, Akhilesh and other family members were demanding Rs 20,000, motorcycle and television.
