The Delhi Police on Tuesday moved a local court seeking directions to close a Karol Bagh hotel -- listed in CBI records as one of the multi-crore assets of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala -- on the ground that it was being used as a "brothel" in an international sex racket.

A police raid in the hotel, 'Regent', located in Karol Bagh in west Delhi in 2004 had led to the arrest of nine Azerbaijan sex workers, one of whom was a minor, its owner Satbir Singh alias 'Professor' and two others.

Metropolitan Magistrate Ashutosh Kumar, who heard the case registered under the Immoral Trafficking Act, on convicting the eight women and two others, including Singh, on May 9, had observed that "foreign prostitutes were brought to the hotel and it was a brothel".

Interestingly, the CBI, in the wake of inter-state raids conducted on May four at the leader's 24 properties, has listed the same hotel as one of the multi-crore assets owned by Chautala in the Capital.

The police, on Tuesday also moved a separate application in court seeking directions to the DCP of Licensing to cancel the permit of the hotel and pressed for the immediate eviction of owner Satbir Singh.

Singh, however, on Tuesday denied in open court of being the owner of the hotel and said he had sold it to a "third person."
