Actor Kevin Bacon has been named as the most underrated star of Hollywood by the Empire magazine.
Actor Kevin Bacon has been named as the most underrated star of Hollywood by the Empire magazine.
According to the magazine, the actor has never been critically appreciated because he will always be remembered for being the one getting a spanking in 1980's flick Animal House.
However, the editors of the publication tend to differ, as they think Bacon is better than that.
"Kevin Bacon's elevation has been slow but relentless, characterised by daring choices and few failures," The Sun quoted Empire, as saying. The magazine has picked its Top 10 list of those actors who are adored by fans, but ignored by critics
Kevin has been followed by Western star John Wayne at the second slot, who the magazine call an "unapologetic bigot".
But they add, "Despite the poisonous personality, he was capable of performances of power and subtlety."
The former Neighbours star Guy Pearce came in third, with 'Marky' Mark Wahlberg, and Cary Grant taking the fourth and fifth position respectively.
