Former Union Finance Minister and Congress candidate P Chidambaram, MDMK Presidium Chairman, L Ganesan, among others, filed their nomination papers in Sivaganga and Tiruchirappalli respectively on Monday, for the May 10 Lok Sabha polls.

Former Tamil Nadu Minister and DMK nominee, Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan, filed her papers in Tiruchengode constituency, while former Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President, EVKS Elangovan, filed his papers as Congress nominee from the Gobichettipalayam constituency.
Today is the third day for filing nomination papers.
Elsewhere in the state, many independents filed their papers today.
There are 39 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state and one in the neighbouring Union Territory of Pondicherry.
