Anand Bhawan sported a festive look on November 14 to indulge in the celebrations of 117th birth anniversary of Chacha Nehru.
Kids belonging to various schools of the city gathered at the premises to enjoy the colourful cultural event presented on the occasion. Cheers and applause followed each colourful performance. Surely it was time to shed all inhibitions and display one's talent before the huge audience which gathered there to witness the event.
Anand Bhawan, the abode of happiness truly seemed to fulfil the meaning of its name.
Children from altogether 15 schools participated in the event namely Anand Bal Mandir, Central Academy, Dawn Children's school, Dr HN Kunzru Junior High School, Ganga Bal Vidya Mandir, Lady Sunder Lal School, Maharshi Vidya Mandir, Old RSJ Public School, Pragati Vidya Mandir, Shining Jewels English School, Swami Vivekanand Vidyalaya, Swaraj Vividha, Umrao Singh Memorial Convent School, Veena Panni Junior High School and Jawahar Bal Bhawan. The number of participants were 225.
The performance was based on folk dance and dance drama. Although each presentation was unique in its own respect but the presentation of dance drama by Ganga Bal Vidya Mandir on the song 'Ae mere watan ke logo' was highly appreciated. Presentation of dance by the students of Swaraj Vividha School also gained applause.
All the participants received the certificate of participation by Jawahar Bal Bhawan, the organising body. Earlier the event started with Shiv and Durga stuti presented by the singers Ashit Roy and Anjana Bannerji. Jaya Dasgupta, the deputy director of Jawahar Bal Bhawan conducted the event.
