China today said that Dai Bingguo will continue to be its Special Representative to the third round of Sino-India boundary talks scheduled to be held in New Delhi.

"Dai Bingguo, the Vice Foreign Minister, will still be the Special Representative of China on the border talks between China and India," Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao told reporters here.
Asked whether a specific date has been fixed for the third meeting of the Special Representative-level boundary talks, he said it would be decided after consultations.
"The date of the third meeting between India's Special Representative and his Chinese counterpart on the boundary issues will be discussed through diplomatic channels."
External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh on Tuesday said that National Security Adviser J N Dixit, who is also India's new Special Representative to the boundary talks, would soon meet Dai in New Delhi.
The Special Representative-level boundary talk mechanism was established during former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's visit to China in June last year.
The two governments decided to designate Special Representatives on the boundary question to explore a framework solution from the political perspective of the overall relationship.
Under this, Dai has met twice with his former Indian counterpart Brajesh Mishra and both sides say the in-camera meetings have been held in an "amicable and constructive atmosphere".
