"Whenever such incursions have taken place, we have put a mechanism in place to sort out such issues at field level. India-China border, which is long and not demarcated, is one of the most peaceful and tranquil", Krishna told reporters in Bangalore.

Noting that India was striving for an amicable settlement on the border issue, he said Special Representatives of the two countries had already held 13 rounds of talks.

"The Indo-China border issue is being negotiated. Already 13 meetings have taken place between the officials from both sides. We are striving to work out an amicable settlement to the India-China border issue," he said.

On resettlement of internally displaced Tamils in Sri Lanka, he said 2.5 lakh people had been affected and the island government had promised India action in 180 days.
