“ We have come to know Swami Chinmayanand has joined Uma Bharati’s ‘Janadesh Yatra’ and we have contacted him to explain things”, State BJP chief Kesari Nath Tripathi told Hindustan Times over phone on Monday. He added that Swami Chinmayanand clarified that since Uma Bharti’s yatra was ‘non-political’, there was nothing wrong in joining it.

Asked as to was Swami’s joining Bharti’s yatra not a violation of his own order in which he had advised the party cadre to keep away from her yatra, Tripathi said, “We have to check whether Bharti’s yatra is ‘political’ . “But certainly we will ask him to explain and initiate action once we come to know that Uma Bharati’s Janadesh Yatra was in any way ‘political’ “, the BJP chief said.
