"We got a report from the CID on Wednesday," Home Secretary Prasad Ranjan Roy told reporters Thursday, but refused to comment on its content.

Roy said as of now no specific name of any police official was in the report.

"The CID is investigating into the case, and firstly they have to confirm if it's a case of suicide or homicide," Roy said, adding "The CID has not said yet that it is a suicide. This is only an interim report."

Rahman's body, with his head smashed, was found along a railway track here.

His father-in-law Ashok Todi, a prominent industrialist, and some senior IPS officers in the state are in the eye of a storm for allegedly intimidating the youth to opt out of the marriage with Priyanka Todi.

Roy said senior Kolkata police officers whose names were dragged into the case would be called for questioning at appropriate time.

Rizwanur Rahman was in touch with Sujato Bhadra of the Association for Protection of Democratic Rights (APDR), a human rights body, before his death and had given a written complaint of the harassment by these top cops.

"This interim report did not nail anybody and our worst fears of a hush-up are coming true," Sujato Bhadra told a TV channel.

Meanwhile, a copy of the CID report would be sent to the West Bengal Human Rights Commission (WBHRC), official sources said.

The CID probe is going on concurrently with a judicial inquiry into the case.

The name of former cricketer Snehasish Ganguly, brother of former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly, has also been dragged into the case after he admitted that he was the one who had introduced the Todis to Police Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee.
