HAloe Skin is the product name of a breakthrough herbal-line series of the Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants.

It is an all-purpose cream prepared with aloe vera plant extract combined with traditional wisdom and modern research.

A team of scientists, comprising NP Yadav, A Pal, DU Bawankule and DN Mani under the guidance of CIMAP Director SPS Khanuja prepared this herbal product. The product is yet to be formally launched and the technology for this cream is ready with the CIMAP for transfer. A couple of companies are evaluating the product for mass production.

Aloe vera extract is known for its healing properties, which has shows promising anti-fungal activities too. Its active principles have been incorporated into an improved cream base to help it render a better acceptability, better healing and skin softening qualities.

This cream is an aloe vera-based formulation which is pharmaceutically elegant because the water washable cream base has been used in the formulation. As a result, the product gives a smooth and soft feeling on application, which makes it more acceptable to customers, informed NP Yadav.

CIMAP has also developed agro and processing technology for this product. This product is highly suitable for small-scale industries because the plant material and the extract of the cream base used is commercially available with CIMAP.
