A Central Industrial Security Force jawan was on Thursday arrested on charges of repeatedly raping a mentally challenged girl in Dewas district in MP. The victim is a minor.

The alleged crime came to light when the girl complained of stomach pain on Wednesday evening. The girl was taken to a hospital where the doctors told the shocked parents that she was 12 weeks pregnant.

In a bid to hush up the matter, the parents took her to Khare Nursing Home and had the foetus aborted.

However, the authorities got wind of it and they raided the nursing home and then got the victim medically examined.

She named CISF jawan CK Murty in her statement to the police. The accused lives in the neighbourhood of the girl whose father is also a CISF guard.

Dewas additional superintendent of police Prakash Purohit said Murty has been booked under relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

Dewas sub-divisional magistrate Dheeraj Shrivastava said action would be taken against Khare nursing home management for not informing the administration before carrying out the abortion. The SDM said he has recommended that the nursing home's license be cancelled.

But since it was a case of alleged rape, the owner should have informed the authorities before carrying out the procedure.
