A group of artists in Gurgaon are celebrating the 100 years of Delhi by depicting different shades of the capital city on canvass.
Apart from showcasing monuments, the painters have splashed all colours of Delhi's culture, foods and roads at the exhibition at Hamilton Court in DLF Phase 4.
The exhibition of canvass as well as fabric paintings by five artists is a part of annual festival. The event will continue till December 31.
"The Indraprastha Kala Fest is an annual fest with varied themes. This year we tried to offer 'Unique Delhi' to the residents of this city," said Sanjay Mehta, the curator of the show.
In the exhibition most of the works are figurative, expressed in various mediums including oil painting, water colour and acrylic.
"I felt that people of this generation have forgotten their heritage and this exhibition is an effort to revive those lost memories," said Vinita Bhatnagar, one of the painters.
Another artist Sajal K Mitra said, he has covered Delhi's foods, roads, and monuments in his paintings.
