Though the stall owners were fretting over the “diminished” footfall this year as compared to last time, the organisers said that some stalls did business over Rs. 70,000.

As many as 40 stalls showcased and sold books on genres ranging from religion, art, culture, fiction to children books.

According to National Book Trust (NBT), which organised the fair, more than 5,000 people visited the stalls.

NBT deputy director Pradeep Chhabra said he was satisfied with the response and the trust will hold more such fairs in future in the city.

Children books did the maximum business and clocked the highest sales.
