‘City has potential, infra needs upgrade’

It was in 2004 that I along with my mother shifted to the Millennium City. I love staying here, but the roads are in an abysmal state. They promise to give you a bumpy ride. I have to think many time before venturing out in my Lamborghini car.

I always wanted to buy a house in the national Capital, but my mother insisted of purchasing one in Gurgaon.

We moved to DLF City, which has excellent golf courses, clubs, world-class hotels, schools, malls and market places, but lacks in basic civic infrastructure.

Roads are in a pathetic condition and driving is a bad experience. So is the traffic, which I find same in almost all the cities and do not blame the government for it.

I feel a lot needs to be done here. I don’t know how many years it would take Gurgaon to be a world-class city, but it surely is on the way of becoming a global habitat.

Power supply is another major concern here. Apart from the regular power supply, we have installed dual power backup at our house. We also get backup from community gensets, but the problem persists.

I have launched an NGO, ‘Yuvraj Singh Foundation’, which helps children with sportsman acumen.

Despite all the drawbacks, Gurgaon is a place to live and I hope that the situation would improve with time here.
