All main markets of the City, majority of the schools and colleges and many private offices remained closed. In Indore the bandh was only till 2 pm in view of the Anand Chaturdashi celebrations. However, most banks and other financial institutions remained open.

Traffic was thin and the normally busy thoroughfares wore a deserted look till the afternoon. City buses were off roads, though some Nagar Seva buses were plying though with reduced passengers.

From early in the morning Congressmen roamed the streets to ensure support to the bandh. However, most of the City was shut

At 2.15 pm Congressmen gathered at Rajwada Chowk to mark the end of the bandh. They paid tributes to Professor Sabharwal and observed silence in his memory for two minutes.
