Praveen, 15, was a student of a government school in Bhajanpura in northeast Delhi. "He was upset about his performance in the board exam," said a police official.

"He was alone at home when he attempted suicide. When his parents realised that, they took him to the Guru Tegh Bahadur hospital where he was declared dead," said the official.

Seven students of Class 12 and 10 have committed suicide in the capital in the last three months.

Last week, a Class 12 girl of the Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj, committed suicide after she failed in the exam.
