Former president of students’ union Ratanpal Singh demanded to conduct the election on scheduled date on December 12 and leaders were not in a mood to compromise on this issue.

V-C Prof Arun Kumar has gone on a long leave and handed over his charge to acting V-C Prof Mittal. Prof Kumar is expected to join office after December 18 and the acting V-C has no powers to take any policy making decision.

Students’ leaders Shrikant Mishra, Ajit Mani Tripathi, Gopal Dubey and others said closure of the university was not the solution and it would further aggravate the problems.
