The evening began with performance by Odissi artists Bijay Kumar Sahoo and Janhabi from Bhubaneswar. They started with the Manglacharan composed in Raag-rageshwari. After this they presented the programme ‘Ahi neel shaila’, which was originally choreographed by late Kelucharan Mahapatra.

The second performance of the day was Kathak by Sharad Vaishnav. Sharad has also received scholarship from Government of India.

His performance was a balanced mix of the styles of different Gharanas. The next performance was that of Bharatnatyam.
