Belgian second seed Kim Clijsters beat Silvia Farina Elia of Italy 5-7, 6-0, 6-1 in 1hr 24min on Tuesday to reach the semi-finals of the women's singles at Wimbledon.

Farina broke for 3-2 in the opening set but Clijsters broke straight back only to fluff triple break point in the tenth game.

The Italian challenger, ranked 25 in the world, then broke for 6-5 and served out in 41min as Clijsters dropped her first set of the event.
Clijsters mauled her in the second set.
She romped into a 3-0 lead in the decider before blasting down an ace in advancing to a meeting with either two-time champion and fourth seed Venus Williams or fifth seed and 1999 titlist Lindsay Davenport.
