Five people, including two close aides of the BSP MLA from Bijnor city, Shahnawaz Rana and his wife, were arrested on Thursday on charges of abduction and attempted rape of two Delhi-based women.
One of the arrested gunners was responsible for the security of Rana, while the other was responsible for the security of his wife Intikhab, who is also president of the Muzaffarnagar zila panchayat.
“They have been suspended and will be sent to the jail,” said the ADG, NCR KL Meena. He added that a hunt was on to nab other accused.

The group was driving along National Highway-58, and was near Jansath overbridge on the outskirts of the city, when the headlights of their Alto started malfunctioning.

{{/usCountry}}But the victims first raised alarm, bit their captors and somehow managed to escape. In the police complaint, the group named three of the miscreants — Dilshad Rana, Junaid Ahmad and Javed.
In a written message to the media, the MLA denied all charges levelled against him “I have nothing to do with the incident. I am not responsible for the what the gunners do in their personal life,” he said.
Rana also claimed that it was the handiwork of rivals who were afraid of the “growing popularity of BSP in the area”.
