Out of the funds, Rs 583 crore has been earmarked for boosting water supply, Rs 260 crore for water recycling scheme and Rs 550 crore for roads. The chief minister also approved development works worth Rs 456 crore for Faridabad, Rs 29.02 crore for Rohtak, Rs 29.42 crore for Hisar and Rs 15.29 crore for Kurukshetra.

In total, the CM announced projects worth Rs 1,913.81 crore in the state.

Hooda gave his approval for the capital boost while presiding over the 32nd meeting of the sub-committee of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) at the Haryana Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh on Tuesday.

Speaking at the meeting, Hooda said that being a global city, massive investment was being made in Gurgaon to improve infrastructural facilities.

"No doubt, the situation is not up to the mark as per the city standards. However, we are doing our job to change it. The city needs FOBs, subways, parking lots, footpaths and other basic facilities for commuters. Though it is a time-taking process, but things would certainly change in the near future," Gurgaon deputy commissioner PC Meena had said in an earlier interview.

According to today's announcement, the development plan for water supply in new areas — Sectors 58 to Sector 115 — includes sewerage and recycling of treated waste water for use in irrigation, landscaping and flushing of toilets.

It is for the first time that a waste water recycle scheme is being implemented in Gurgaon. The projects also included providing Master Sewerage Scheme of Leg No. VI, for new Sectors 77-115 as per the Gurgaon-Manesar Urban complex, providing distribution mains for re-cycling water from Sector 81- 115, providing master sewerage scheme of Leg No.V, for new sectors from 58-76 of Gurgaon-Manesar Urban Complex, Gurgaon, master water supply scheme (distribution mains) for Zone-III Urban Estate Gurgaon, and distribution mains for recycle of water from Sector 58-80 (zone IV, V and VI) Urban Estate, Gurgaon.
