CM assures protection

CHIEF MINISTER Shivraj Singh Chouhan today assured the Christian community of full protection from the State Government. He said that it is the duty of the State to honour all communities.

CHIEF MINISTER Shivraj Singh Chouhan today assured the Christian community of full protection from the State Government. He said that it is the duty of the State to honour all communities.

He was talking to a 12-member delegation of Christian community here today. Director General of Police Swaraj Puri was also present. Referring to incidents of attacks on some churches, the Chief Minister asked the DGP to ensure that such incidents do not recur and those involved in such acts face strict action.

He said that there is no place for violence in any religion. The State Government would strictly deal with the elements involved in violent acts. Stressing the need for participation of all communities in unity and integrity of the society, Shivraj Singh said that the Christian community is an integral part of the society.

The delegation included Sam Francis, CP Mathew, Sas Mathew, Babu, Shubu Thomas, Sazi and Rezi.
