The Chief Minister also announced that the rehabilitation of the girl will be borne by the State Government. The Chief Minister made this gesture during the Mahila Panchayat held at Ravindra Bhavan on Sunday where Dussehra made an appearance along with her mother and secretary of NGO Prayatna Ajay Dubey – who was instrumental in bringing to light the ordeal of the teenaged girl.

The Hindustan Times had on June 28 reported the girl’s ordeal and had followed up the story on July 29, mentioning that no rehabilitation had yet been forthcoming for the victim.

Although individual problems were not being heard at the Panchayat, the Chief Minister took the initiative after hearing about the girl and made an impromptu announcement for the financial assistance for Dussehra Bai.
