CHIEF MINISTER Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday reiterated the State Government’s commitment to promoting Sanskrit language, adding that no effort would be spared in this direction.
He informed that the State Government has taken fresh initiatives for setting up a Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, filling up vacancies of Sanskrit teachers, release of official news in Sanskrit and their display on the website besides issuing advertisements to Sanskrit magazines.
Chouhan was inaugurating a four-day national symposium and practice session organised by the Sanskrit Bharti in the auditorium of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Parisar here.
Chouhan said that it is difficult to understand India and Indian culture in right perspective without the knowledge of Sanskrit. The Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya bill would be tabled in the next Assembly session, he added.
The Chief Minister said that efforts are being made to improve teaching arrangements on temple premises. The setting up of a Dharmacharya Parishad is under consideration for improving the arrangements of Sanskrit teaching.
Reminding that Sanskrit has been considered the most suitable language for computer, Chouhan said that along with promoting information technology, equal attention would be paid to promoting use of Sanskrit.

{{/usCountry}}Chouhan expressed hope that in the years to come the Sanskrit scholars would intensify their efforts for popularising the language. With these efforts, the day is not far when there would be campus selection of Sanskrit students. He also lauded the activities of Sanskrit Bharti.
The national executive president of Sanskrit Parishad, Chand Kiran Saluja, (New Delhi) said that the aim of the Parishad is not only to teach Sanskrit but also to inculcate values in the students.
The national secretary Chamu Krishna Shastri (Bangalore) said that conventions of separate groups are being organised to enhance the prestige and glory of Sanskrit in the country.
The endeavour is to organise Sanskrit lovers, promote harmony and arouse in the people of the country the feeling of national pride. State representatives participated in the symposium.
At the outset, the Parishad functionaries welcomed the Chief Minister and expressed happiness on the steps taken by the State Government for promotion of Sanskrit. State secretary of the Parishad, Manmohan Upadhyaya, conducted the function. Madhya Bharat secretary Laxminarayan Pandey proposed the vote of thanks.
