ONCE AGAIN Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today targeted his ministerial colleagues and Samajwadi Party district office-bearers for all the ills afflicting the party, saying had they maintained proper relation with grass-root workers the organizational scenario would have been different.
Addressing a conference of office-bearers of assembly constituencies here on Saturday, Yadav broadly hinted towards early assembly elections and said the time was running out and workers should gear up the assembly units without delay.
The chief minister also reprimanded party workers for becoming ‘pichlaggu’ (tail-wagers) of the ministers, MLAs and other party leaders.
Yadav said ministers and district leaders had also failed to look into the problems of the workers at the lower level.
Yadav said senior leaders also did not regularly stay at night in their constituencies to guide the party.
Asking the workers to realise their strength the chief minister said next assembly elections were not only vital for the state but they would define the national politics also.
Referring to ongoing controversies, Yadav said the situation had been changing fast and conspiracy had been hatched to create trouble for the party. With assembly elections fast approaching, he said senior leaders were being defamed with political motive.

{{/usCountry}}Flaying the silence of other senior leaders over the controversies haunting the party the chief minister said no other leader except Amar Singh, Akhilesh Yadav, Shivpal Singh Yadav and some time Jaya Prada and Jaya Bachchan had come forward to take on the opposition forces.
Claiming that the SP had played a vital role in formation of the Congress-led UPA government, Yadav said his party was the worst victim at the hands of the central government. He said eviction from his Delhi bungalow was one recent example in this connection.
Accepting that the problems of party workers had not been solved, the chief minister assured them that their issues would now onward be solved on priority.
Earlier, addressing a day-long session, one after another party leader assailed district officers and the police for harassing them. Speakers from various districts enumerated police brutalities and rampant corruption in the district administration.
