FOLLOWING CHIEF Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s insistence that no warrant was pending against him on November 29 when he took oath of the office and that he had no knowledge about any such case, a dissatisfied Opposition staged a walk out in the Assembly today. The protest came at the end of the discussion on an adjournment motion moved by the Congress.

Leader of Opposition Jamuna Devi earlier announced that the matter would be taken to court. Discussion on the adjournment motion, moved by Dr Gobind Singh and nine others continued for four hours with more than 20 members of the treasury and the Opposition putting forth their points on the issue.

The Congress tried to corner Chouhan and the government saying that the case under section 147 and 341 against him was withdrawn on December 6, a week after he took oath of the office.

The warrant against the chief minister was also scrapped on this date by the court of JMFC, Gauharganj (district Raisen), which meant that on date of his oath taking both the case and warrant were pending against Chouhan, the Opposition contended.
