CHIEF MEDICAL Officer Dr Shantimal Singhavi has ordered an inquiry against the medical officer (MO) posted at Bibipur New Primary Health Centre, under Pratappur PHC.

The local residents of Bibipur had given a written complaint to the CMO, against the MO about ten days back. They alleged that the doctor never attended the PHC due to which the patients were forced to take treatment from quacks and unauthorised private practitioners.
The Bibipur New PHC is located about 40 kms from Allahabad, near Ugrasen Railway Station. The nearest government health centre was Pratappur PHCs.
But, many serious patients faced difficulty in getting medical and health facilities from the Pratappur PHC due to conveyance problem, it was decided to open New PHC in Bibipur. A medical officer was posted to manage emergency and routine services at the centre.
But taking advantage of distance and slack monitoring system, he reportedly stopped coming to the PHC. Due to which the OPD and emergency services became badly affected and the patients were forced to take treatment from quacks. The local residents complained that the OPD functioned for a day or two in a month. "The MO is normally not available at the PHC. He comes only once or twice every month and leaves within two hours," said a youth from Bibipur who made a complaint to the CMO.
CMO Dr Shantimal Singhavi said following the complained the Deputy CMO was ordered to conduct an inquiry against the MO and submit the report within five days. "It is a serious complaint and a disciplinary action will be taken against the doctor if found guilty of charges," he added.
