Congress on Thursday said that the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) of the government would not be altered even after the Left withdrawal of support to the government and the ensuing political bitterness between the two sides.
"Just because Left has left us, the CMP would not be altered. It is a commitment given to the people of the country at the time of government formation," Congress media department chief M Veerappa Moily told Reporters in New Delhi.
Replying to a volley of questions on whether the government would go ahead for the economic reforms programme and Labour reforms after the Left withdrew the support, Moily said, "reform cannot be unrestricted".
"We would be cautious on any reforms which affect the aam aadmi (common man)," said Moily, adding, "reforms would be undertaken to control inflation".
Moily said there would be a acceleration of all the schemes and programmes of the government aimed at the common people of the country.
"We will communicate the programmes to the people and ensure its implementation in a time bound manner," said the Congress leader.

{{/usCountry}}Talking about the agenda of the party after the victory in the trust vote, Moily said the Congress would go to the people on the nuclear deal and the way issues concerning common people have been tackled by the government.
