Parveen, who is the daughter of one Sadiq Mohammad of Bhame Kalan village in Mansa district, was produced before a court which granted the police a 7-day remand for questioning her.

"She is the fifth accused to be arrested in this case so far," Deputy Superintendent of Police SS Bhoria told a news conference.

He said a case under Section 120-B (conspiracy) has been registered against Parveen, a BA first year student of Mohindra College in Patiala, Punjab "as preliminary inquiries revealed her involvement".

She later dropped out of the plot to eliminate the Dera chief, who has earned the wrath of the Sikh clergy following his appearing before followers in an attire similar to the dress of 10th Sikh Guru Gobind Singh.
