COLOUR SELECTION does not merely reflect your frame of mind and attitude but also has a profound influence on your life and personality. The colour of the clothes that you wear all day long specially affect your behaviour as well as your conduct and can even aid you to achieve success or drive you on the path of failure.

These facts have come to light in a study carried out by a psychologist of the Ewing Christian College (ECC), Manju Tiwari.
Manju Tiwari, who is a Lecturer at the Psychology Department of ECC, says that colours have a great impact on our lives and the colour of clothes that we wear especially leave a mark on us. "It has been observed that people who are jovial prefer black and yellow coloured clothes. However, a person who is calm and docile in nature undergoes a stark change in behaviour and attitude if he is suddenly made to wear clothes of red colour for some years. The person has been found to become more aggressive and prone to anger," she said.
Manju Tiwari informed that among all the colours, purple has been found to have a lot of impact on a person's life and attitude. "It is known to cause disinterest towards life in a person and dark purple has even been found to drive people towards committing suicide. Similarly, clothes of brown colour over some years cause negative attitude in a person while a person wearing azure has been observed to become restless. So, we can say that these colours can ideally be avoided," she added.

"It is ideally the colour to be worn during special or auspicious occasions. Similarly, clothes of orange colour can also be worn on such occasion. It was also found that people wearing light blue for a sustained period of time lead to their becoming ambitious and sincere while the colour green was found to provide peace to the mind and provide a calming effect," Manju Tiwari said.
She said that white drives a person towards spiritualism while black makes him adventurous and mysterious. "Wearing colourful clothes helps a person keep himself in high spirits," She added.
