The Chief Technical Examiner of the state government will head this committee. The Chief Engineer Directorate of Urban Administration and Development Bhopal and the Chief Engineer Public Health Engineering (PHE), Bhopal will be the members of the Committee.

Besides, the City Engineer (Project) Bhopal Municipal Corporation will be its convenor. The committee will submit its report within 15 days. The Scheme’s implementation had started in 1999. But the implementation was stopped in year 2000 after new regime took over in the BMC.

It was again revived about a year later. But the implementation was further delayed as the BMC had to seek the permission from the Supreme Court’s Committee on Environment for the use of forestland of Ratapani Sanctuary.

However, the scheme could not be implemented as the BMC sought the private financing for this scheme till year 2004. The scheme was again stopped when new BJP government took over the reign of state. This time the scheme was revised and cost was reduced to Rs 67 crore from Rs 111 crore.
