TENSION GRIPPED Rehmat Nagar locality under Rajghat police station on Friday after minor incident of scuffle between members of two community. Two persons sustained injuries and heavy police force was deployed in the area to monitor the situation. Though both parties gave written complaints against each other, no FIR was lodged against any one till this report was filed.

Reports said Javed Khan, resident of Rehmat Nagar, had a dispute with Dhruv Jaiswal of the same locality. On Friday Dhruv Jaiswal and Javed had heated arguments over the issue of a pathway and engaged in a scuffle. Soon members from both communities gathered there and started shouting slogans against each other, which created sensation in the locality.
However, prompt intervention by senior residents of the locality and quick action by the police foiled the attempt to disturb the peace. Senior residents persuaded each other and appealed to them to settle the dispute with negotiation while police force chased the youths who were shouting slogans.
Inspector Rajghat Bharat Yadav took two members of each community under custody and sent injured Izhar Khan and Dhruv Jaiswal for treatment.
It is to be noted that religious sentiments were high in the city on Friday with members of a particular community offering Namaz collectively and the other community worshipping Goddess Durga.
