Complaint filed over extortion

Ashish Thapar, a broker, received the call at 1.30pm on May 17 where a man asked him to keep money ready and wait for the next call. He also warned him against informing the police about the matter.

Then, Thapar thought it might be a prank call from one of his friends. But after checking with all his friends, he got worried. He discussed the matter with his family members and decided to lodge a police complaint. "We received the complaint via an email on Thursday. An investigation is underway and soon we shall arrest the culprit soon," said SHO Gorav Phogat.
