PROJECT-AFFECTED families (PAFs) of Narmada Valley are getting speedy disposal of their complaints through two grievance redressal authorities (GRA).

The State Government on Sunday claimed, as many as 19,629 complaints had been disposed of so far collectively by GRA Narmada complex projects and GRA Sardar Sarovar project.

According to an official release, for judicious and independent disposal of complaints of Narmada project affected families, a GRA is working under the chairmanship of former additional chief secretary Ravindra Sharma.

Another GRA looking into complaints of SSP affected families is working under the chairmanship of former Chief Justice of the High Court Justice G G Sohani.

Narmada complex project grievance redressal authorities chairman Ravindra Sharma said through the press release that the GRA had registered 17,245 complaints. Out of the total registered complaints, 10,755 complaints were disposed up to last December.

Maximum of 15,183 complaints were received from the Indira Sagar project affected families. Of that, 9237 complaints had been disposed. Sharma added the GRA had organised camp courts in the project area to facilitate affected applicants.

The State Government had extended rehabilitation package and facilities to 24,421 families affected by the present SSP dam height of 121.92 metres.
