The Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) of state government employees has warned the government to concede their demands including implementation of signed agreement and enhancement of retirement age from 58 years to 60 years and also announced calendar for its fifth phase of agitation, else they will go on strike for five days.
Leader of JCC Adbul Qyum Wani said, "JCC has unanimously decided to give last chance to state government to concede their genuine demands including regularization of daily rated workers, enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years, removal of pay anomalies and Dearness Allowance (DA) in favour of employees, else we will observe complete strike for five days from January 19th to January23rd, if state government would not concede their genuine demands.
We are struggling for their genuine demands since last year but the ignorant attitude of state government has compelled us to intensify their peaceful agitation," he added.
"State government is adopting delay tactics to concede our demands because they are seeking political mileage for forth coming election," said Dar.
Earlier also in September 2011, The JCC called off their strike after the government decided that the existing road map notified by the Government relating to 50 percent of the arrears due to the employees shall be revisited. During the 2011-2012 Financial Year, the State Government shall release 20 % of the total arrears in favour of the employees through G.P.F route without any lock-in period.

The 4.5 lac employees and workers in both Jammu and Kashmir regions observed complete shutdown under the banner of Joint Consultative Committee (JCC), demanding that their demands should be addressed as soon as possible.
