Members of District Youth Congress Committee assembled at Anand Bhawan and celebrated the victory by burning firecrackers. They even distributed sweets.

Addressing the activists, PCC Member Harikesh Tripathi said this was a defeat of the State government whose party candidate had lost its security deposit.

The public at large voted against the misrule of the State government. District president Mukund Tiwari was optimistic that this development would revive the party fortune in the State.

Sanjay Tiwari demanded CM’s and party leader Beni Prasad Verma’s resignations for failing to save the security deposit of their candidate. Parvez Akhtar Ansari said the Congress was set to come back to in power in the state soon.

District Congress Committee president Ashok Kumar Bajpai also echoed these sentiments. Mohrrum Ali, Madhu Chakha Shalu Mehrotra and Shakil Ahmad also hailed the victory.

Senior Congress Party leader Syed Rahman Ali also spoke similarly. Sushil Chandra Gupta of Trade Cell leader distributed 11 kg sweets to hail the victory.
