Cong leader shot at

A local Congress leader, who is stated to be a member of UP Congress Committee, was critically injured when three unidentified motorbike-borne men shot at him on Tuesday morning at Sainthli area of Muradnagar in Ghaziabad.

A local Congress leader, who is stated to be a member of UP Congress Committee, was critically injured when three unidentified motorbike-borne men shot at him on Tuesday morning at Sainthli area of Muradnagar in Ghaziabad.

Abhay Tyagi was shot twice from a .315 caliber country-made weapon and was rushed to Yashoda Hospital in Ghaziabad city.

Police have denied that the incident was related to any political rivalry ahead of the forthcoming assembly elections. "We have come to know that the victim had a property business and was indulged in constructing houses at Hisali village area. The attack could be a result of any business dispute," senior superintendent of police (SSP) Raghubir Lal said.
