Cong leads in Jharkhand

Congress is surging ahead of BJP in the tribal state of Jharkhand which is ruled by a BJP-led government.

While Congress is leading in seven seats, BJP is leading in only two seats when trends were available for 11 out of 14 constituencies at 0930 hours.

At the Rajmahal (ST)seat, Thomas Hansda (Cong) leads Som Marandi (BJP). At Ranchi, Subodh Kant Sahay (Cong) leads Ram Tahal Choudhary (BJP) by 7000 votes. While at Kodarma, Babulal Marandi (BJP) leads Champa Verma (JMM).

At Hazaribag, External Affairs minister Yashwant Sinha (BJP) is trailing by 3167 votes to Bhubaneswar Prasad Mehta (CPI). At Dumka, Sibu Soren is leading over Sone Lal Hembram (BJP) by over 5000 votes after second round of counting. At Koderma, former Jharkhand chief minister Babulal Marandi (BJP) is leading over Champa Verma (JMM) by over 42000 votes.

At Giridih, Giridih, Teklal Mahato (JMM) is leading over Ravinder Pandey (BJP) by over 5000 votes after the first round of counting. At Lohardaga (st), Rameshwar Oraon (Cong) leads Dukha Bhagat(BJP), at Palamu (sc), Manoj Kumar (RJD) leads Braj Mohan Ram (BJP) Godda- Pradeep Yadav (BJP) leads Furkan Ansari (INC) by 2000 Votes.
