Terming as a mere "drama", the offer by Madhya Pradesh Congress MLAs to resign, BJP on Saturday said if they were serious about stepping down the legislators should have submitted resignations to the Assembly Speaker.

"The resignation drama by 25 Congress MLAs was aimed at drawing people's sympathy," senior BJP leader and state party spokesman Bhupendra Singh said in a statement.
"If they really wanted to resign as MLAs they should have put in their papers to Assembly Speaker instead of approaching Sonia Gandhi," Singh added.
